  1. Compatibility Statement
  2. WordPerfect v5.1 and WordPerfect for Windows v5.2 from WordPerfect Corp. are 
  3. compatible with LANtastic NOS v4.x and v5.x.

  5. Product Overview
  6. WordPerfect is one of the market leaders for word processing software.  
  7. Installation and operation over the LANtastic Network Operating System is 
  8. directly supported in WordPerfect version 5.1 and above.

  10. Product Installation Notes
  11. WordPerfect (DOS) v5.1
  12. Installation is achieved via WordPerfect's INSTALL routine, invoked from the 
  13. Install/Learn/Utilities 1 diskette.  During the installation, the program 
  14. will present a list of possible networks.  At this screen, one of the choices 
  15. displayed is:

  18.  
  19. Choose this option and WordPerfect will install correctly for use with the 
  20. Network Operating System.  Refer to Appendix R of the WordPerfect Reference 
  21. manual on details about Network Administration in a DOS environment.

  23. WordPerfect for Windows v5.2
  24. Run INSTALL on the Install/Program 1 diskette from within Windows.  Since the 
  25. drive letter of your WordPerfect server is hard-coded in the icon properties, 
  26. you may want to use the same drive letter on all workstations.  As for all 
  27. Windows applications, remember to avoid self-redirections on a LANtastic 
  28. server running Windows.  Self-redirections are 'NET USE' commands looping 
  29. back to the local machine, e.g. if you issue the following command on machine 
  30. <server1>, you are doing a loopback:

  32.     NET USE W: \\<server1>\C-DRIVE
  33.  
  34. Loopbacks can be avoided by invoking the installation from a workstation, or 
  35. using the DOS SUBST command instead on the server.  Please see the LANtastic 
  36. Compatibility Bulletin for Windows v3.1 for more information.  Refer to the 
  37. README.NET file in the \WPCINI directory on details about Network 
  38. Administration in a Windows environment.
